At EDB, we believe that fostering an inclusive, supportive, and empowering culture is key to building a thriving workplace. As we celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we are proud to spotlight the Women and Allies Employee Resource Group (ERG)—an initiative dedicated to creating a space where the women of EDB can share, learn, and grow together.
EDB People Associate Addison Markey says, “I’m passionate about creating a supportive and empowering space for women to grow, connect, and succeed. I love the ability to have a direct impact on fostering an inclusive culture within EDB by crafting educational sessions and dynamic conversations for women so they can feel seen, heard, and inspired.”

Creating a Community of Growth and Support
Re-launched in Q4 of 2024, the Women and Allies ERG has expanded to include allies, after more than two years of being a women-only group. Founded on the principle that collective strength drives individual success, this group serves as a peer-to-peer support network, providing a welcoming space where women and allies at EDB can connect, exchange knowledge, and champion one another’s professional and personal development.
As Laura Minen, Business Operations Analyst at EDB, shares “I chose to volunteer for EDB Women and Allies ERG because this is a great opportunity to help cultivate a more open, inclusive, and equitable culture at the company. By organizing activities and resources for the group, we support our community of women and allies, foster growth and empowerment, and spark a lasting wave of positive change.”
Mission and Vision
Mission: To create a community space for the women of EDB to share, learn, and grow.
Vision: A more empowered group of EDB employees who thrive in their careers and beyond.
The Women and Allies ERG provides:
- A welcoming platform for presentations, discussions, and shared experiences.
- Opportunities to connect with and learn from inspiring women leaders.
- A focus on growth, both professionally and personally, through mentorship and networking.
Mandy Robbins, Operations Program Manager at EDB, highlights the impact of ERGs:
“I’ve experienced firsthand the positive impact ERGs can have on both personal and professional growth, and I decided to volunteer with EDB’s Women and Allies ERG to contribute to building a community that champions women’s careers and cultivates a culture where women can thrive.”
Goals for 2025
This year, the Women and Allies ERG is focused on three key initiatives:
Increasing visibility and participation
Hosting impactful sessions to inspire and engage our community
Build a stronger community across different teams and roles
Ankita Mehra, People Specialist, People Brand & Diversity at EDB, emphasizes the ongoing commitment to this work, saying “It's truly inspiring to see the incredible work being done by our Women and Allies team—not just during a specific awareness month, but consistently throughout the year. Every month, we come together to connect, learn, share, and support one another, fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment.”
Shaping the Future Together
The Women and Allies ERG at EDB is more than just a support group—it is a catalyst for change. Through our collective efforts, we are not only helping individuals grow but also shaping a workplace culture where women are empowered to lead, innovate, and thrive.
As Ankita Mehra puts it:
“Together, we are creating a space where allyship is not just encouraged but actively practiced, enabling our people to grow, support one another, and drive meaningful change.”
At EDB, we are committed to empowerment, inclusion, and success—not just in words, but in action. As we continue to build this community, we look forward to a future where every woman at EDB feels valued, supported, and equipped to achieve her fullest potential.
