Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, business and IT persisted. And in this unprecedented global climate, conferences went virtual—like Postgres Vision 2020, which saw great success, with over 4,300 people from 92 countries.
PostgreSQL and open source were in news headlines throughout the year, with commentary from experts like Marc Linster and Jan Karremans.
And like previous decades, PostgreSQL was supported in 2020 by experts like, Michael Stonebraker, Bruce Momjian, Robert Haas, Simon Riggs and dozens more community contributors and committers.
Postgres has continued to progress, with exciting updates seen in PostgreSQL 13, and PostgreSQL companies are increasingly leading the charge. In 2020, EDB acquired 2ndQuadrant, enabling more growth.
EDB is dedicated to supporting PostgreSQL for years to come, offering energy, expertise, and education through services and training—with 7,700 users enrolled in PostgreSQL training in 2020.
