At EnterpriseDB, we envision an economy fueled by data-driven, AI-infused applications that integrate seamlessly into daily life, creating positive economic and social impact. For over 20 years, we have prioritized responsible innovation, being mindful of how we operate and the outcomes we achieve.
In line with this commitment, I am pleased to share that EDB has signed the EU AI Pact. This framework encourages and supports organizations to plan ahead for the implementation of the EU AI Act, the first legal framework governing AI, which outlines clear requirements for AI developers and deployers. The Pact includes over 100 multinational corporations from various sectors, including IT, telecom, healthcare, banking, automotive, and aerospace.
The Pact supports voluntary commitments from the industry to adopt the principles of the EU AI Act before its official implementation and fosters collaboration between the EU AI Office and stakeholders across industry, civil society, and academia.
Participating companies agree to commit to the following core actions:
- Develop an AI governance strategy to promote AI adoption and future compliance with the Act.
- Map high-risk AI systems that may be classified as such under the Act.
- Enhance AI literacy and awareness among employees to ensure ethical and responsible AI development.
Additionally, EDB has introduced its own AI Principles, reaffirming our commitment to our stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, policymakers, and the broader community. These Principles enhance our AI processes and create a framework that enables responsible innovation. We look forward to sharing insights and collaborating with industry peers and the EU AI Office.
