EDB recently added self-service superuser access features to our fully managed BigAnimal Postgres-as-a-Service that enable customers to access expanded controls over their clusters directly from BigAnimal interfaces when using their own cloud accounts. This feature enhancement eliminates the need for BigAnimal users to contact EDB support to enable superuser access.
BigAnimal users with appropriate permissions can assign themselves the superuser role, which bypasses all permission checks for a database. BigAnimal self-service superuser access lets developers and DBAs access Postgres controls that include backup and recovery, extension installation, and database connection management.
Depending on your role access, you can enable self-service superuser access by using UI, CLI, API, or Terraform.
Self-service superuser access provides BigAnimal users with a level of control over Postgres deployments in their cloud environments that other fully managed Postgres cloud services cannot offer.
