PostgreSQL v10 Associate Certification Available
PostgreSQL 10 was the most significant Postgres release in recent years. Available since October 2017, it provided database administrators flexibility, powerful new database features, and an array of new deployment choices. The release expanded deployment options and increased database performance.
If you have had an opportunity to work with the new features of PostgreSQL 10 and have prior hands-on experience managing Postgres environments, you might be ready to earn your PostgreSQL 10 Associate Certification. This certification exam is available through EnterpriseDB (EDB), the industry’s most credible source for Postgres training and certification. This is a great opportunity to put your skills to the test and earn the most current certification available for Postgres.
An EDB-issued Postgres certification is the gold standard in the industry, earning you credibility and validating your Postgres skills to the marketplace. When you complete your Postgres certification from EDB, you will also earn a digital badge — a visible recognition of your achievement. Badges provide an easy way to share and validate your Postgres abilities via social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, as well as email and online portfolios. Use your EDB Postgres certification badge to tell the world you are Postgres-ready.
You do not need years of Postgres experience to earn your Associate-level certification, but such practice is certainly helpful. Our certification tracks are geared toward users with solid technical backgrounds, including knowledge of basic SQL. Expertise with Linux is a plus, as well. However, most test takers will find that if they have the right technical experience and have worked with PostgreSQL 10, they will have accumulated the level of exposure required to pass this exam.
Certification is also a great way to stand out from the crowd, advance your career, and ultimately command a higher salary. The findings in the 2017 Open Source Jobs Report, conducted by The Linux Foundation, indicated that certified professionals with formal open source training were more desirable to hiring managers. In the survey, 50% of hiring managers said they were more likely to hire a certified professional and 76% of open source pros said certifications have been useful to their careers.
EDB offers two Postgres certification programs for database professionals, one for PostgreSQL and one for EDB Postgres Advanced Server. There is an Associate- and a Professional-level certification available for each track. Professional certification builds on the fundamentals earned at the Associate level. The Associate Certification exam for PostgreSQL 10 is available now, and the exams for the Professional-level and for EDB Postgres Advanced Server 10 will be available soon.
